Thai Roots Team Volunteering at Ronald McDonald's House

On this Mother’s day, May 12th, 2019, Thai Roots Team and 14 friends were volunteering to cook Pad Thai for 154 people at Ronald McDonald’s House in Vancouver that provides housing for families with sick children to live together while they are visiting BC Children Hospital for treatment 🏡 It was a great team effort for everyone as we fundraised the money, collected ingredients, and cooked the food together as a team.

We used 8 kg of rice noodle, 5 kg chicken breast, 7.7 kg of Tofu, 120 eggs, 4 kg of bean spouts, 1kg of chives, 50 limes, 1 kg of peanuts and 10 kg of Pad Thai Sauce. We were super happy when people came for the second round and told us how they and their kids enjoyed the food. When the dinner was over, we were given a tour of the house where we learned about the wonderful people and organization that makes this house a truly caring place.
